Former teaching assistant with DeSoto County Schools faces additional child molestation charge

In a statement to Local 24 News, DeSoto County Schools said, “School officials are cooperating fully with local law enforcement regarding the former employee.”

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss — UPDATE 4/20/2021:  Amy Craft, the former DeSoto County Schools' teaching assistant, faces an additional charge.

The DeSoto County Sheriff's Department says after further investigation Craft has been charged with a second count of felony molestation.  Detectives have found evidence which includes Craft touching the minor inappropriately.

No other information is being released at this time.

This is still an ongoing investigation.

A former teaching assistant with DeSoto County Schools has been arrested.

Amy Craft, 48, was charged Thursday, April 15, in DeSoto County with “molesting-touching child for lustful purpose.” In a statement to Local 24 News, DeSoto County Schools said, “School officials are cooperating fully with local law enforcement regarding the former employee.”
