The City of Memphis said Thursday a parking plan for the Memphis Zoo has been finalized, and it will not include parking on the Overton Park Greensward.
Mayor Jim Strickland says the final plan is funded by the Memphis Zoological Society and Overton Park Conservancy.

“In the final plan, parking expansion stays north and west (on the Zoo side) of the ridgeline that defines the boundary of the Greensward. Once complete, a visual barrier and a berm will separate the Greensward from the parking and provide a permanent end to overflow parking on the Greensward.”
