This cleanup is intended to be a positive moment in a challenged complex with years of negative headlines and widespread issues.

This cleanup is intended to be a positive moment in a challenged complex with years of negative headlines and widespread issues.

Community activists said they’re beyond fed up of battling the several different property owners to clean up this illegal dumping ground and other rampant signs of disrepair across this property.

Those with the Frayser-based ‘Lifeline to Success’ blight patrol and other volunteers spent this morning hauling large section of trash – with garbage bags and tree trimmings –  into dumpsters at fox hollow.

The property doesn’t have a property manager – with dozens of out-of-state – even out-of-country owners.

Community leaders the homeowners’ association is largely inactive, with homeowners not paying their dues.

Those living here recently asked the environmental court judge for a Memphis Police Skycop camera to monitor the illegal dumping.

Pastor Deandre Brown with Lifeline to Success, said, “Sometimes people just don’t know, so we want to do is attempt to help them see a different way, and leave a message that if you take pride in your community, it looks better, people feel better and its better overall for all the children.”

A portion of this complex was demolished last year.

The property owners are due back in Shelby County Environmental court March 12th.
