WEB EXTRA: Wolf River Greenway Epping Way Expansion

The Wolf River Greenway is celebrating a new expansion called Epping Way this Saturday morning in the Raleigh and Frayser area.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) — The Wolf River Greenway is celebrating a new expansion called Epping Way this Saturday morning in the Raleigh and Frayser area.

The event will kick off with a 5-K run at 8 am followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from mayors Strickland and Harris.

In addition, there will be plenty of family fun available including food, face painting, and a photo booth.

The new segment is located east of North Highland and south of Stage James Road and includes a 12-foot-wide-trail with two pedestrian bridges, new picnic tables, and an incredible view of the 25-acre lake and its surroundings.

Wolf River Conservancy Executive Director Keith Cole says the continued expansion of the Greenway shows what important partners the city and county have been in its development.

“To build a 26-mile-long trail which is going to connect 853 acres in the city of Memphis is pretty transformational. We’re pretty excited about building this Greenway along with our friends with the city of Memphis and Shelby County,” said Cole.
