Opinion | If you have yet to get your COVID-19 vaccination, Tennessee ad campaign says, “Give it a shot!” | Richard Ransom

Tennessee will spend $2.5 million on the ads, which seem effective and targeted.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In Tuesday’s Ransom Note: getting the message out.

Every night I show you how Tennessee is one of the slowest in the country in getting vaccinated for COVID-19. So now the Tennessee Department of Health is launching a new ad campaign to get any of you on the fence off the fence. Watch the full videos below, but here are some excerpts from them.

"To be honest.. made me much less anxious."

"He told me the vaccines... put this pandemic behind us."

"Join the millions. Give it a shot."

There's a Spanish version as well, and Tennessee will spend $2.5 million on the ads, which seem effective and targeted. We may never reach herd immunity, but if it gets more people to get their shots, I’d say it’s worth it.
