MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In Friday’s Ransom note: it sure has been nice to have something to rally behind with the Memphis Grizzlies.
It goes without saying it's been the strangest of years since COVID-19 first ended their season abruptly 14 months ago. The Memphis Tigers men’s basketball team did their part by winning the NIT, but we couldn't really soak it in. It was nice seeing more people in FedExForum, even if it was only allowed to be 40% capacity, and it was nice to see so many fans turn out for the watch parties tonight.
I shouldn't leave out Memphis in May. Sure, there was no music fest and limited attendance at the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. But again, at least we got a taste of what we love about living here. It's good to feel a little more normal again.
