Pedestrian killed after being hit by car on I-240 near Union Ave.

A pedestrian was hit early Friday morning, pronounced dead on the scene.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car Friday morning on I-240 near Union Ave.

Memphis Police officers responded to the scene on I-240 northbound at 7:28 a.m.

MPD said that the victim was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident caused traffic delays during morning rush hour.

At 7:09 am, officers responded to a man struck by a vehicle on the interstate at I240 northbound near Union Avenue. The male was pronounced deceased on the scene. This is an ongoing investigation. Expect traffic delays. pic.twitter.com/bvVKpXJU5A
