John Bryant is the Chief Meteorologist for the Local Storm Team with the Mid-South's Most Accurate Forecast weekdays on Local 24 News at 5pm, 6pm, 10pm and CW 30 News at 9pm.

John is a native Memphian whose passion is and has always been weather.  He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Atmospheric Science with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology. John holds both seals from the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.

John began his career in television right before graduating college at WABG-TV Greenville, MS.  After a brief stint there, he moved to WTVA-TV in Tupelo, Mississippi. In 2001, John joined WMC-TV in Memphis where he worked for 13 years.

John has extensive experience with forecasting severe weather. During Hurricane Katrina he provided non-stop coverage for three days at a co-affiliate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  John was one of the first meteorologists in the world to use the VIPIR Technology Indicator that tracks tornadoes in real-time during the February 5, 2008 tornado outbreak.

John is involved with many charities including the American Cancer Society, the Child Advocacy Center, Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Youth Villages, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. John, his wife, and three step-children reside in Memphis. Email John.
