A Rainy Start To The Day Will Give Way To Afternoon Sunshine

The heaviest rain will fall this morning. Clouds will clear from west to east this afternoon.
MEMPHIS WEATHER--Happy "Hump" Day everyone! We are kicking off our Wednesday morning on a soggy note. Most areas in the Mid-South have picked up between 1-2 inches of rain and more rain will move into the Mid-South this morning. Rain will be heavy at times. Please be careful and watch out for standing water on roadways during your morning commute. Rain will begin to taper off by 10 a.m. with most of the Mid-South dry by midday. Drier air on a northwesterly wind will help to clear clouds out of the area from west to east this afternoon. Temperatures will be much cooler today. Morning commute temperatures will be in the upper 40's. The help of afternoon filtered sunshine will push temperatures into the mid and upper 50's.  Mostly clear skies and calming winds tonight will help temperatures drop into the upper 30's and lower 40's. Patchy frost in rural areas cannot be ruled out.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures will be back tomorrow. Warm temperatures in the 70's will continue through the weekend. However, our next round of rain also returns for the weekend. Showers are storms are possible late Friday night into Saturday morning. Isolated afternoon showers are possible through Monday with the help of daytime heating.

Have a great Wednesday!
