A Soggy & Cold End To The Week

Rain will be heavy at times today and temperatures will continue to drop.
MEMPHIS WEATHER--It's going to be a soggy and a chilly day in the Mid-South. A slow-moving weather system continues to spin a heavy band of rain through the Mid-South. Rain will train over the same areas for several hours before getting a big push to the northeast. Areas will have the potential to pick up an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain by the end of the day. Please be mindful that roads are wet and to never drive through standing water. Rain will be heavy at times today before tapering off later this evening. The Memphis Metro area will see drying conditions after dinner time tonight. Rain will hang on longer across northeastern counties in the Mid-South. Temperatures will continue to drop throughout the day as rain spins through the area. Most areas will reach high temperatures this morning and will fall into the mid 40's this afternoon. Low temperatures tonight will set new records in most places with lows in the mid and upper 30's.

Saturday morning will be mainly dry, but clouds will be persistent across the area. Temperatures will be very cool tomorrow with highs only in the mid and upper 50's. The Mid-South will see a break in the rain for the first half of the day, but wrap-around moisture on the backside of our weather system will bring additional rain chances to the area in the afternoon. Scattered light showers will arrive Saturday afternoon through Sunday.

Temperatures will begin to warm back up by the middle of next week. Have a great Friday and a good weekend!
