A Stray Shower Possible Today

An afternoon shower is possible today south of I-40.
MEMPHIS WEATHER--It's a warm and muggy start to the day in the Mid-South. A mix of clouds and sunshine will help us start our "hump day", but a few showers will be possible later this afternoon. Moisture continues to stream into the area, and with the help of daytime heating, an isolated shower or two can't be ruled out south of I-40 in parts of northern Mississippi. Highs today will top out in the upper 80's near 90 degrees.

Computer models continue to indicate another possible complex of showers to move into the Mid-South after midnight and into Thursday morning. Afternoon showers will again be possible Thursday after noon. There is a possibility for another complex of rain to develop in Missouri and head towards the Mid-South Friday. These convective systems are typical in spring and are usually poorly handled by computer models. The potential for additional clouds Friday could result in slightly cooler high temperatures. Still, our best bet for widespread rain chances will arrive late Saturday into Sunday. A few storms cannot be ruled out during this time frame as well.

Have a great Wednesday!
