A dreary Saturday turns into a summery Sunday

Rain will taper off through Saturday night before we see more sun Sunday.

After an overall dreary day conditions will be quite quiet for the next 24 hours. Tonight, we’re still left with plenty of clouds but showers continue to end. One thing those clouds will do however is keep temperatures warmer. Mercury will be slow to fall into the low 70s by tomorrow morning. Clouds will gradually break by sunrise tomorrow leading to areas of early fog. I’m talking especially to those who saw rain today which was basically everyone north of Mississippi. Much of Sunday will be rain free with a good mix of clouds and sun. Heat will come back because we’ll actually see the sun; highs will be near 90°. Our current weather set up has our winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere coming from the northwest. You care about that because clusters of storms will gather in parts of Nebraska and Missouri and then ride that wind into the Midsouth Sunday night and Monday. As you read this it’s still a bit too early to tell severity but strong winds and heavy rain is a good bet. Scattered storms will linger into Monday afternoon leaving plenty of clouds behind and highs only in the 80s. Tuesday through the end of next week will be rather summery and by that I mean hot with a couple storms each afternoon. Highs starting Tuesday get back into the low 90s consistently through Saturday. All the while we get muggier and muggier each day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
