Arctic air is sneaking into the Mid South this morning. Temperatures in the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest are a spine tingling 20 to 30 degrees below zero. Of course we don't get even close to that but nothing is out of the "normal" this morning that would clue you in to a major cool down today. You will know it this afternoon when we struggle to break into the low 40s and run 20 degrees cooler than Sunday. The Arctic blast is short lived as we turn things around Wednesday, but we must get through a frigid morning on Tuesday with lows in the teens in outlying areas.
By Thursday highs will push to near 60 in many areas before rain arrives in the evening or late night. Rain showers end Friday morning followed by another shot of Arctic air and a cold weekend.
