Cloudy, Humid, & Windy

MEMPHIS WEATHER--Temperatures climbed once again into the 80s even with mostly cloudy skies.  The clouds reveal the additional moisture in the air transported via winds from the south.  Winds will increase out ahead of a strong storm system that is building up steam to our west.  Overnight more clouds stream in and our atmosphere becomes even more unstable.  If we see sunshine throughout the day, this might set off isolated storms early in the afternoon.  The storm system and associated cold front will move into eastern Arkansas later Thursday afternoon and push through the Mississippi River late in the afternoon into the evening.  Some storms may reach severe limits.  We will be paying close attention to this developing system and will bring you the latest data as it arrives.
