Isolated Rain Chances, Still Hot & Humid

Isolated showers and storms will pop up across parts of the Mid-South this afternoon.
MEMPHIS WEATHER-- Happy Thursday everyone! Another hot and muggy day is on the way for us. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will again be possible with the heating of the day. Showers and any storms that develop will be pulse-type storms. They will be slow-moving but will likely produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Temperatures today will top out in the mid and upper 80's again. Computer models continue to indicate a complex of rain developing overnight tonight and Friday night in southern Missouri. If this occurs, overnight rain and storms could move into northeastern Arkansas and northwest Tennessee.

The best chance of rain will arrive late Saturday into Sunday. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined areas along and north of I-40 in a Slight Risk for severe weather Saturday. The weather-maker that will be bringing this rain will allow bring a brief cool down to the area. Highs next Monday will only top out in the lower 80's, but temperatures will be back to near 90 degrees by the middle of next week.
