Isolated to scattered showers tonight, big time heat later.

Rain drops will move east to west across the Midsouth tonight as a weak disturbance races into New Mexico.
MEMPHIS - A weak and fast moving area of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will keep moving west into New Mexico tonight. Its presence close to the Midsouth keeps off and on rain in the forecast tonight; none will be severe but a few may throw down some heavy rain. After midnight showers will be done but humidity will be high, lows will only dip into the low 70s. Monday and Tuesday will feel like classic Midsouth summer; highs will be in the low 90s with a couple thunderstorms popping in the afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will keep nosing into and strengthening over the middle of the country through midweek. You care about that because it will drive up temperatures and keep rain chances at a minimum. Highs Wednesday through Friday will be in the mid and upper 90s; throw some humidity in there and we're looking at a heat index close to 105°. The ridge breaks down (weakens) by next weekend allowing another front to approach from the north, that gives us low 90s (big whoop) Saturday and Sunday with a 30% storm chance.

-Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend and get ready for a great work week!
