MEMPHIS WEATHER-- After very heavy rain and storms, the Mid-South will begin to see better weather today. Memphis set a new daily record rainfall yesterday of 4.18 inches! The previously set record for May 21, 2013 was only 2.51 inches and that happened in 1913! Today, temperatures will climb into the lower 80's and remaining moisture in the air will help kick off a few leftover showers and storms. Shower/storm activity should be mainly east of the MS river and most likely to be found across extreme northeastern Mississippi. Clouds will begin to thin out this afternoon from west to east. Tomorrow, a cold front will slide into the Mid-South bringing drier air with it. A few clouds will increase during the afternoon, but the Mid-South should remain mostly dry. This dry weather-maker will help to lower humidity values across the area and make for a very pleasant end to the week. Sunshine and lower 80's are in store for the weekend.
