MEMPHIS, TN--Another cloudy start to our day in the Mid-South. Temperatures are much milder to start the day in the area and will climb again into the mid 60's by this afternoon. Southerly winds will be more breezy this afternoon to help with our warm-up and any peaks of sunshine through the clouds will also help to boost temperatures this afternoon. Isolated showers are possible, especially this morning. Better rain chances arrive over the weekend.
High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will climb into the lower 70's, but it will not be a picture-perfect weekend. Scattered showers and storms are likely on Saturday as our next potent weather-system approaches the area. Rain could be heavy at times and a few storms could be strong. A cold front will impact the Mid-South Sunday afternoon and evening. This time frame will be the best opportunity for widespread rain as a line of rain and storms will push through the area. Showers will linger into Monday morning and temperatures will dramatically drop as winds turn to the northwest behind the front. A light wintry mix can't be ruled out across our extreme eastern counties if there is a brief hour of overlap with rain and cold air arriving. It will be back to December-like weather next week!
Have a great Friday!
