More Freezing Rain Tuesday

Icing concerns continue...
MEMPHIS--The Mid-South will see another round of freezing rain late Monday night and Tuesday.  Initially, there may be a little sleet, but a change over to all freezing rain will happen quickly early Tuesday morning.  Freezing rain will affect northern Mississippi first and then work northward Tuesday morning.  A NE wind will keep temperatures below normal during the morning and much of the afternoon.  Freezing rain will be heaviest in Mississippi where a quarter of an inch or more may lead to signinficant icing issues.  Farther north to along and just north of the I-40 corridor freezing rain amounts will be slightly less and closer to a tenth of an inch.  Weather will move east of the Mid-South Tuesday evening, however slick spots will continue Tuesday night.  Temperatures will warm above freezing Wednesday helping the situation.  The jury is still out on another weather system that could bring more sleet or snow Wednesday night and Thursday.  If the storm passes closer to the Gulf of Mexico coastline, most of the Mid-South would stay dry.  A track farther north and the system will pose additional travel concerns.
