Not so sunny Sunday followed by another cloudy and cool Monday

Scattered showers dot the map on Sunday evening with more on tap for Monday. Meanwhile, temperatures stay well below average.
A large, weakening, slow moving area of low pressure to our northeast will keep moving into the Midsouth tonight. You care about that because it's helping to keep clouds around, temperatures low and scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. If you're out and about the rest of Sunday you'll be dodging small bits of rain with isolated thunder. It won't be anything too serious outside of some lightning flashes and periodic heavy rain. Rain will start to diminish after the sun goes down just after 8:00 pm. I'm not saying all the rain will be done, but the chance is lower overnight. At the same time temperatures will start to drop from the 80s into the 60s before you wake up Monday morning. The aforementioned low will be closer to us on Monday meaning more showers and storms will be possible. We're not concerned about severe weather with this low outside of lightning and heavy rain. Clouds will stay with us prohibiting much heating so highs are forecast to be about 10° below average in the low 80s. The cool and slightly wet pattern will start to breakdown Tuesday through the 4th of July on Thursday. Storm chances will be isolated through the holiday with highs returning to the low 90s with lows staying comfy in the mid & upper 60s. Our next best chance for widespread rain comes by next weekend. Stay tuned for details!
