Rain To Begin The New Year!

Rain To Begin The New Year!

Memphis--After a year of drought and low Mississippi River levels, much needed rain arrives just in time to begin the new year.  Hopefully this is a positive omen for 2013.  Rain will be heaviest along and south of I-40 where rain totals will reach and possibly exceed an inch.  Temperatures will be chilly in the low 40s Monday night and Tuesday, but will stay well above freezing keeping precipitation all rain.  Drier air will slowly arrive from NW to SE across the area Tuesday afternoon.  Sun returns Wednesday but unseasonably cold temperatures will continue for the remainder of the week.
