September Heat Wave Continues

A Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
MEMPHIS, TN--The heat is on in the Mid-South. Temperatures have soared this afternoon and will be just as hot on Thursday. The humidity is ramping up, creating oppressive heat index readings across the area. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be our only relief through Friday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will have the potential of being strong and severe each afternoon.

The Mid-South's next weather-maker will bring rain and storms to the area beginning Friday afternoon. Some storms could be severe late Friday night. Rain will last through the first half of Saturday before things start clearing out. Temperatures will take a sizable dive for the weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will barely climb into the lower 80's with overnight lows dropping into the upper 50's and lower 60's area-wide. Seasonable temperatures will return with sunny conditions for next work week.

Have a great Wednesday and tune up your weather radio for the next few days.
