Severe Weather Possible Today

Afternoon sunshine will increase the potential for severe weather later tonight.
MEMPHIS WEATHER--The Mid-South will see a few more batches of rain this morning before our area gets a break in the activity. Breaks in the clouds this afternoon will allow sunshine to heat up temperatures. The atmosphere will be able to become unstable again and thus will lead to an increased severe threat across the area for late this afternoon, evening, and overnight. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined the Mid-South in a slight risk for severe weather today. Isolated strong and severe storms may pop up across eastern Arkansas this evening in advance of a main line of strong storms. And severe storm will have the potential to produce damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes. A line of strong storms will move into the Mid-South between 10 pm and midnight tonight. The leading edge of the line will be the most powerful and could pack powerful wind gusts.

Rain will continue through much of Wednesday before clearing out during the evening hours from west to east. Sunshine and cooler weather returns for the end of the work week. Humidity will also take a hit to make for a very pleasant Friday and weekend ahead!
