Showers North, Big Heat South

Parts of the Mid-South will head into the mid 90's this afternoon.
MEMPHIS WEATHER--Good Wednesday everyone! Scattered showers and storms will be possible later this morning, especially along and north of I-40. A complex of rain and storms that developed overnight continues to head downstream towards the Mid-South. Localized heavy rain and lightning are likely. As a result, clouds will overspread much of the northern half of the area, helping to delay a warm-up in temperatures.

Meanwhile, a warm front continues to lift northward through the area. A strong southerly wind is transporting lots of humidity into the area and it will be a seriously muggy day. Temperatures will vary across the region today with highs across the northern third of the area only topping out in the lower 80's. Temperatures in northern Mississippi will skyrocket into the lower and middle 90's! The heating of the day may help to kick off additional isolated storms this afternoon in this area. Have a great day!
