A cool front finally cleared the Midsouth Thursday night taking the mugginess and big time heat with it. Following highs in the mid 90s Thursday, Friday morning lows continue to fall into the 60s. Think of it this way, Wednesday afternoon the heat index was 111°, now our raw air temperature is in the 60s, safe to call that a cool & comfy change. This afternoon high pressure will nose in from our north leading to plenty of sun and decent warming; highs will be in the upper 80s but humidity will stay low. Tonight, little change happens in the weather world with lows in the 60s by Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon the aforementioned ridge of high pressure moves slightly to the east bringing back a light taste of humidity. Meanwhile, highs touch 90° again with a small chance at a shower or two. As winds swing around to the south again by Sunday, mugginess will come back along with highs in the low 90s. There isn't an overwhelming rain chance Sunday through midweek but a few storms will try to pop once we hit the latter part of the weekend. The big time heat comes back by Tuesday at the latest; at that point highs will be near 92° with a heat index near 100°.
Enjoy your Friday and make it a great weekend!
