Strong Storms To Start Our Friday

Heavy rain and gusty winds will slow you down on your morning commute.
MEMPHIS WEATHER-- Strong storms will continue to work from west to east across the Mid-South this morning. The majority of wet weather is occurring along and north of I-40. Rain and storms will continue to push eastward and the Mid-South will see a break in the rain for midday. As a result, steamy temperatures will quickly jump into the mid and upper 80's this afternoon. As the atmosphere recovers from morning rain, additional isolated showers and storms may pop up late this afternoon.

Another complex of rain and storms may develop overnight tonight and move into the portions of northeastern Arkansas early Saturday morning. Otherwise, for most of the Mid-South, the first half of Saturday will be uneventful. However, as the day wears on tomorrow, the atmosphere will become increasingly more unstable and will provide a threat for severe storms by Saturday evening. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined the Mid-South in a slight risk for severe weather Saturday. Rain will continue overnight Saturday into the first half of Sunday before exiting the region. Temperatures will be slightly cooler behind the rain with highs on Sunday only around 81 degrees.

Be safe on this Friday!
