The Heat Is On!

Temperatures today will soar into the mid 80's!
MEMPHIS WEATHER--A breezy southerly wind continues to spill moisture into the Mid-South. A few clouds are present this morning, but as temperatures begin to climb, an isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out. Showers today will be very hit and miss and will diminish after sunset when temperatures begin to cool down. Highs today and Wednesday will climb into the mid 80's with increasingly humid conditions.

We continue our focus on potentially stormy weather for Thursday evening. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe weather in the Mid-South Thursday. A potent weather system will drag a cold front through the area late in the day Thursday. Ahead of the cooler air, an area of rain and storms will develop and could be strong and severe. This same weather system will impact the Great Plains Wednesday and will help to nail down arrival time for the Mid-South. Currently, computer models forecast the heaviest/strongest weather to arrive between Thursday's evening commute and midnight. Clouds and rain will exit the Mid-South early Friday and cooler air will fill in. High temperatures Friday will barely touch 60 degrees with Friday night lows in the mid 30's to lower 40's.  Pleasant weather is on the way for the weekend.
