We're going back to the 90s!

It's been over a week since Memphis hit 90°, that streak is about to end.
MEMPHIS- Thunderstorms will fizzle out over the next couple hours as the sun starts to set. However, the ones out there are leaving their mark. A flash flood warning is in effect for Pemiscot county until 10:00 pm as slow moving thunderstorms sit over the same spot. In other weather related news, as the title alluded, highs are climbing back into the 90s starting Sunday. It's been over a week since Memphis International hit the coveted mark; holding in the 80s for 8 straight days. On that note, Sunday, with a ridge of high pressure building in, we start a long stretch of highs at or above 90° through next weekend. At the same time, a south wind has and will continue to turn up the humidity, we'll likely have a heat index close to or above 100° by Tuesday. The forecast remains rather stagnant once you get over the heat; there aren't any organized weather makers for the next seven days outside of a few thunderstorms each afternoon. A cold front will clip the area by the end of the week but at this point it looks to have little effect.

Be safe and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
