Humane Society To Host Paw Prints Party

The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County will host Paw Prints Party, its largest annual fundraiser, on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 5:30 to 11 p.m.

Memphis, Tenn., July 29, 2013 – The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County will host Paw Prints Party, its largest annual fundraiser, on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 5:30 to 11 p.m.

            Paw Prints Party, which will take place at the Clark Opera Memphis Center located at 6745 Wolf River Parkway, will feature an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, a seated dinner and dessert with vegetarian and vegan options, as well as a wine pull, a presentation by HSMSC, and live entertainment from local band Front & Beale. There will also be a live and silent auction featuring donated items from local, regional and national businesses and individual supporters, such as signed pieces from the Memphis Grizzlies, work by local artists like Paul Edelstein and Mike Manness, experience packages and luxury items.

            “This year we celebrate 80 years of fulfilling our life-saving mission, all without government funding,” said Leah Walker, the development and marketing director at the Humane Society. “We are excited to share that mission, along with a great party, with supporters.”

Tickets for Paw Prints Party may be purchased ahead of time or at the door. Prices are $125 per person or $1,000 per table of 10. Tickets may be purchased by calling 901-937-3903 or visiting www.memphishumane.org. Seating is limited. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m.

            The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County has worked in the Memphis community since 1933 to give injured and abused dogs and cats a second chance at life. The organization provides a safe place to recover; nutritious food and outstanding veterinary care for an average of 300 animals at a time. Humane Society staff and volunteers provide training, affection and socialization to the animals in their care to help
