COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Junior running back Robby Strachan ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns as the Webb School of Knoxville defeated Evangelical Christian School 47-14 in the Division II-A state championship Thursday at Tennessee Tech's Tucker Stadium.

It was the sixth state title for Webb School (11-1) and the third in four years. The Spartans improved to 4-2 against the Eagles (6-7) in the TSSAA playoffs.

Strachan, who had 18 carries, was named the game's offensive MVP, while teammate Brant Mitchell was the defensive MVP with 10 tackles - four unassisted and six assisted.

The Spartans took control of the game with three second-quarter touchdowns, including two Todd Kelly rushing scores, and led 27-0 at the half. Kelly ran for 118 yards on 13 carries.

Webb School rolled up 453 yards on 59 plays, including 406 rushing yards.

ECS quarterback Brent Rooker threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-29 passing.
