RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) - The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s personal secretary is selling a collection of materials from the early days of the civil rights movement, including a typed page from King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

Maude Ballou will sell the items in New York through Texas-based Heritage Auctions.

The 88-year-old Ballou worked as King's secretary from 1955 to 1960 when King led the Montgomery Improvement Association and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Sandra Palomino, director of historical manuscripts for Heritage Auctions, says some items, more than 100 in all, are so unique that it's difficult to put a value on them. Palomino says the market must decide their worth.
