PARCHMAN, Miss. (AP, abc24.com) - Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant says he won't block the execution of a man who killed two nieces and two nephews in a 1990 stabbing rampage.
Bryant says Henry Curtis Jackson Jr. "committed these heinous crimes, and there is no clear and convincing evidence that compels me to grant clemency."
Jackson is scheduled to die at 6 p.m. CDT Tuesday by injection.
Jackson was convicted of killing the children, who were 2 to 5 years old, during a rampage in which Jackson allegedly was trying to steal his mother's safe. He was convicted in 1991.
The children's mothers in recent days had asked Bryant to spare their brother's life.
