KOSSUTH, Miss. (AP) - Authorities are looking for thieves who have stolen safes from two Dollar General stores in Mississippi and cut open the safe at a Tennessee store in the chain.

Investigators tell The Daily Corinthian that two men used a heavy chain and a pickup truck to drag a safe out of a Dollar General store on Dec. 24 in Kossuth and Dec. 10 in Thaxton.

Alcorn County sheriff's investigator Reggie Anderson says he believes the crimes in Kossuth and in Pontotoc County are related.

In Tennessee, McNairy County Sheriff Department Investigator Robert Hitchborn says a store in Eastview was robbed Dec. 21 by thieves who entered through the back, cut the safe open and left with a significant amount of cash.

Hitchborn says it took them about three minutes.
