Tiger Fans Attend Practice, Size Up Competition

TULSA, OK (abc24.com) - Memphis fans got their first look at the Tigers Wednesday in Tulsa. The team's first full day was filled with practice, and fans took advantage of the opportunity to see their favorite players up close.

Most Memphis fans are probably using the day as a travel day, but there were about a dozen here early to see the team practice.

They are all decked out in their team gear. Some are Tulsa locals, others made the trip from the Mid-South.

We met the Cable family from Olive Branch, a father and son who are diehard Tiger fans. The two attended every practice Wednesday, scouting out the competition.

"We've been here since first practice early this morning, just comparing and watching everybody," said Frank Cable. "But Memphis, compared to everybody else's guys, it's another world. We're awesome."

12-year-old Reed Cable added, "I think its awesome. It's better than being way up in the rafters because players talk to you… and Coach Pastner come over and talk to me, I think it's awesome."

The Tigers don't play until Thursday night at six, so if you're a fan still back home in Memphis you have plenty of time to get here.
