Dancing with the Stars names its first ever final four. So which couples made it and which came up just short of a chance at Mirrorball glory?
Guys, it's the 300th show! So appropriate and ironic that it's today since ABC announced the show will be once a week next year. Awkward. But it's nights like these that results shows are bloated and completely useless. We all know Ingo's going. (Sorry, man.) Let's just get it over with. Worse: We don't even have DanceCenter this season to ease the pain. Is this how ABC's phasing out results shows? Because it's not a good way to start. Get rid of the fluff packages first.
First safe couple:
Jacoby and Karina — Mama Jones approves! She apparently made her own 10 paddle last night.
After an encore by Kellie and Derek, and a spotlight tribute to 10-year-old Guinness record holder Sophia Lucia (for most consecutive pirouettes — 55), we learn that Aly's a klepto! (Way to rat her out, Mark.) She steals bangles from her costumes each week. Why, Aly? You can just get those at Claire's. (Probably.)
Next safe couple:
Kellie and Derek
Zendaya and Val are in jeopardy. I will never understand why people are so surprised when the other couple is declared in jeopardy after one is safe. They rarely ever save everyone who's on stage simultaneously, and in this case, had they done that, then the remaining two couples would obviously be in jeopardy. Plus, Zendaya had an off night and this is the perfect way to paint the "front-runner in danger" narrative.
Even Ingo's ready for the inevitable. "The other four deserve to be in the final for sure," he said after last night's show. "If I don't go home ... then someone's going to be upset."
Next safe couple:
Aly and Mark
Ingo and Kym are in jeopardy. They, and Zendaya and Val are not necessarily the bottom two.
And the couple going home is ... Ingo and Kym.
"This has been an amazing experience because I thought I was going to be done in a few weeks and I would be going back to Hawaii and come back for the finale," he says.
Tom reveals that Ingo has been talking up the other four this past week and how they should be in the finals, and praises him for his "generous" compliments. "I really want to see them battle it out because I think it'll be really good competition," Ingo says. What a guy: nice, self-aware and realistic. And he gets to go home to Peanut!
What do you think? Did Ingo deserve to go? Do you like the final four? What would you steal from the show? Did you miss DanceCenter? Who do you think will win? Vote below!
