Dancing with the Stars sets its semifinal lineup. Did Len's caustic critique haunt Kellie and Derek? Plus: Find out which dances fans picked for everyone via Twitter.
First of all, I love that Derek has called out Len's outburst as "contrived." This ain't his first rodeo. He knows what TPTB is up to. But like I said last night, me thinks this is just to mobilize their fan base after they got immunity last week and to prove that they're not the judges' pets.
First safe couple:
Ingo and Kym
Kym is in disbelief. "WHAT?!" she screams. "Told you!" he says. This means Sean has to go. Way to make it obvious, guys.
Kellie and Derek are in jeopardy. They're fine. You know it. Just have to play up the story line.
Next safe couple:
Zendaya and Val (who also got the encore with Gleb)
Jacoby and Karina are in jeopardy.
Next, it's time to see which dances you guys hashtagged to everyone's name for 12 hours. Obviously one couple will not be performing next week.
Viewer's Choice Dances
Kellie and Derek: flamenco (or "Flamin' Co.," according to Kellie)
Ingo and Kym: Charleston
Zendaya and Val: Hip-hop (of course)
Sean and Peta: disco
Aly and Mark: Afro-jazz
Jacoby and Karina: lindy hop
The Adventures of Peanut Rademacher
Oh. My. Goodness. As my favorite Friend would say, could this kid be any more adorable? It's been too long since we've seen Peanut and this package is way too short. Why haven't they been doing packages with Peanut all season?! This kid has the life. He's got jokes, can dance and plays pranks! If I were twentysomething years younger, Peanut, I'd totally cruise next to your sports car power wheels in my Barbie jeep. Also, ABC, it's not too late to green-light The Adventures of Peanut Rademacher for next season. Surely you have some room on Disney Junior.
After a gravity-defying Fred Astaire tribute by Derek and Jaime Goodwin — in a customized 7-ton rotating room, no less — the final two couples learn their fates.
Next safe couple:
Aly and Mark
Sean and Peta are in jeopardy. Kellie and Derek are declared safe next, but Jacoby and Karina, and Sean and Peta are not necessarily the bottom two. (You know Ingo and Kym are the other bottom two couple.)
And the couple going home is... Sean and Peta.
"I've enjoyed every single second of it," he says. "I'm truly blessed to have done this with all these stars. I'm still just a normal guy from Dallas."
"This season has been so much fun, and he's the just the most wonderful and humble guy," Peta says.
That was quick and painless. Sean's a nice guy, but some people just can't dance and you can only ride on the Bachelor afterglow and ABC's support for so long. I do love how promptly the show disposed of him after dogging Andy for so long.
What do you think? Did Sean deserve the boot? Do you like the semifinal lineup? What do you think of the dances everyone has? Was Derek right to call out Len? How do we make The Adventures of Peanut Rademacher happen for real? Who's your current pick to win?
