Created by Wilson and Conan O'Brien, the show refers to Friday nights, when friends Kimmie (Wilson), Helen-Alice (Lauren Ash) and Marika (Liza Lapira) have their longstanding "Friday Fun Night" tradition, in which they stay at home in their pajamas for quality time together. But that might all be coming to an end now that Kimmie has gotten a promotion at her law firm and is invited to a party by her co-worker Richard (Kevin Bishop).
Lucas, whose credits also include Little Britain and Community, will play Derrick, a former co-worker of Kimmie's in the law firm who still works in her old department on the ninth floor. The two friends catch up as they occasionally run into each other on the elevators. Like Kimmie, Derrick can be a little socially awkward.
Wilson first tweeted about Lucas guest-starring on Wednesday. "Super Fun Day of filming with [Matt Lucas]," she wrote with a photo of the duo on set.
Lucas will pop up in the second episode of the series, which premieres Wednesday, Oct. 2 on ABC.
