City Rallies behind Memphis Grizzlies for Game 6

With the possibility of clinching the first round of playoffs Friday night, the entire town has turned into Grizz Nation.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - With the possibility of clinching the first round of playoffs Friday night, the entire town has turned into Grizz Nation.

The City of Memphis declared Friday 'Grizzlies Day.' City Judge Jayne Chandler traded her robe for a Grizzlies Jersey and yellow coat, purse and shoes. The Grizz-fever outfit even caught the attention of the Grizz Girls.

Tabitha, a Grizz Girl for five years, said, "That is amazing, I've met her before and I think the jersey, she looks great today."

Tabitha hopes the city's energy translates to the arena. "It's a great thing how the Grizz pull Memphis together. I love that we can all come together on one thing like this."

But it's not just Memphis. "I flew from Miami to come to the game tonight," Florida resident Adam Levine told ABC24. Levine has no ties to Memphis, but is a die hard Grizz fan that has never been to one game; he flew overnight to get here. "I just came from the team store and dropped like $1,000." He says he bought "T-shirts, jersey, hat, sweater, slippers, a welcome mat, socks."

He is excited to join Grizz Nation for what he hopes is a huge win over the L.A. Clippers.

Tip-off is at 8:30 p.m. at FedExForum.
