Frayser, that used to be true but the USPS fees are through the roof. For example, I went in yesterday and they wanted $48 for a medium sized box without insurance. I went up the street to UPS, and they charged me $28 and it included insurance. I wish I could recall the difference in prices between FedEx and USPS more specifically, but I do know USPS is SO much more than it used to be. It was once the least expensive alternative.

I have never understood the fascination with this company, the Postal Service offers the same services for a third of the cost....
