'Five Guys' Employees Outsmart Robbers

Quick action by Bartlett restaurant employees foiled an attempted armed robbery Sunday night.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Quick action by Bartlett restaurant employees foiled an attempted armed robbery Sunday night.  

Around 11:00 p.m., Bartlett officers were called to the Five Guys at 6600 Stage Rd. in regards to an aggravated robbery.

One employee told officers that while he was attempting to do an inventory count, he opened the door to the back hallway of the restaurant and saw two men wearing Halloween masks walking towards him. One of the men held up a gun and pointed it at him. Flax said when he saw the gun, he quickly backed up and closed the door he had just opened. He said could feel the men on the other side of the door attempting to reopen it, so he locked the door and turned out the lights in the kitchen. Flax then yelled for all of the employees to get out of the store and called the police.

The two male suspects were wearing dark colored jumpsuits. One of the suspects was wearing a "Scream" style Halloween mask, while the other had on a skull style mask.

The suspects could be seen getting dropped off and picked up by a white or silver colored sedan through surveilance video.

Police also found there was an open door found at the Spirit Halloween Store a couple of doors down from Five Guys.
