Memphis Police Net More than 2K Lbs. of Marijuana in Drug Bust

Memphis police have four suspects in custody after a drug bust that netted more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police have four suspects in custody after a drug bust that netted more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.

At a Tuesday morning press conference, MPD Director Toney Armstrong stated 2,100 lbs. of marijuana, $170,000 in cash, Xanax pills and a .357 handgun were confiscated in the raid in the 4100-block of Reenie in north Memphis.

Officers conducting surveillance identified the targets of their drug investigation, and conducted a traffic stop in Monday, April 1 when 100 lbs. was seized. That led officers with the Organized Crime Unit to the home on Rennie.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $2 million.

Aramis Diaz, 36, and Gabriel Diaz, 24, were both jailed on a $5 million bond. Armando Sauceda, 37, and Rene Hernandez, 36, are being held on $500,000 bond. All four suspects are scheduled to appear in court on April 3.
