Sadly, this does come with the job, and I have strong respect for ANYONE willing to risk their lives, not once, but EVERYDAY for others. This is why I can't wait for the time when we won't need police officers, because God is going to do something that we humans, try as we may, can't do. "And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” (Psalms 37:10&11) Soon God will get rid of ALL the wicked ones and leave only good people in happiness and peace!

I'm concerned with the way things went down, and I definately give the blame to the POS whe shot the officer. It was the shooters fault, and the shooter should face a slow, lingering death. As far as blame, well you can't really pin it on one person, except for the shooter. There are techiques used that might have lessened the chance of the shooting, but no guarantees. The one thing that has been established is tht overtime pay was denied for this operation using the TACT squad, to engage this takedown in the way they were trained. TACT neutralizes high profile targets, then hands the bust to the back to the Organized Crime Unit in charge. That's all. And yes, the reason TACT was cancelled at the last minute was strictly the call made by someone in the force, regardless that the funds were availed to him repeatedly.

come on Mike, i am all for MPD getting overtime but dont blame this girl's death on overtime pay, the tact unit could have assisted but i dont think overtime had much to do with this. This is called a sorry POS not respecting the police and getting caught and not wanting to return to his jail cell. I am so sorry for her family but everyone knows going out there every day, you could be killed at any moment, especially today. police officers are worried about getting killed, shot, sued, suspended, everything in the world, they cannot do there job like they should. you might offend someone, cant ask questions because they dont want to answer. cannot run them off the corner, against their rights. MPD we appreciate your service every day. go home every night and never leave without telling your family u love them, stay safe.

Would have, should have, didn't have, couldn't, wanted to, needed to. Anything is subject to happen at any time. It's dangerous work. Period.

Typical union spin at a time of mourning. What do slimy politicians say? Never let a good tragedy go to waste?
