President Obama is in the Volunteer state, with a new proposal he says will create middle class jobs.

Air Force One touched down in Chattanooga Tuesday afternoon.

The President toured the Amazon Fulfillment Center.

The online retailer announced yesterday it's adding seven-thousand jobs in 13 states.

He then gave a speech, laying out his proposals.

The President says he's willing to reform the corporate tax code in exchange for more money for jobs programs.

He also proposed a list of ideas to build America's economy.

Reaction was mixed.

"I, I know look, I know that, you know, the politics for Obama aren't always great in Tennessee. I understand that. But, but, but, but I want everybody to just hear the honest truth. I have run my last campaign so I don't need to spin. And here is the truth. There are no gimmicks that create jobs. There are no simple tricks to grow the economy," Obama said.

Republicans are saying 'no deal.'

They say the corporate and individual tax codes must be changed simultaneously to help certain small business owners.
