A runoff mayoral election will be held in Olive Branch after none of the five candidates secured a majority of the votes in Tuesday's primary.
OLIVE BRANCH, MS (abc24.com) - A runoff mayoral election will be held in Olive Branch after none of the five candidates secured a majority of the votes in Tuesday's primary.

Front-runners Art Shumway and Scott Phillips, Jr. will face a runoff in two weeks, according to election officials.

There were no democrat or independent candidates, so the winner of the runoff election will take over the mayor's seat for Sam Rikard, who did not seek re-election.

Art Shumway: 1566 votes, 32%
Scott Phillips, Jr.: 1515 votes, 31%
Jessie Medlin: 1407 votes, 29%
Brian Hodges: 341 votes, 7%
Anthony Holland: 17 votes, 1%
