Road Construction Workers Killed in I-55 Crash

Two workers were killed in Marion, Arkansas when a vehicle swerved into a construction zone Tuesday night.
MARION, AR (abc24.com) - Two workers were killed in Marion, Arkansas when a vehicle swerved into a construction zone Tuesday night.

The accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, near mile marker 12 on I-55 southbound. According to Arkansas State Police, a Ford pickup swerved into a closed lane and struck two workers and an asphalt paver.

The two workers, 34-year-old James Rains of Marion and 55-year-old Marshall Turner of Memphis, were both killed. The truck's driver, 44-year-old George Walker, and his passenger, 43-year-old Nicole Johnson, both from Illinois, were taken to The MED in Memphis.
