MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A 16-year-old girl and a security guard were sent to the hospital Sunday night after gunfire outside a Walmart in the Hickory Hill area.

Memphis police were called to the Walmart at 2856 Hickory Hill Rd just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 17. A 16-year-old female shooting victim was shot in front of the store, and was transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in non-critical condition. A 21-year-old security guard was also shot and taken to The MED in non-critical condition.

Investigators say the shooting suspects were likely among the hundreds of people turned away from a nearby nightclub that had reached its maximum capacity. Police did take two juveniles into custody after hearing more gunshots nearby; one juvenile suspect was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, the second juvenile was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information on this shooting should call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
