Three Different Drivers Hit Memphis Woman, Take Off

A Memphis woman was hit by not one, but three drivers, who all took off, leaving her for dead.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis woman was hit by not one, but three drivers, who all took off, leaving her for dead.

It happened Tuesday night just after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Winchester and Cazassa.

"All I heard was a woman scream," said Brian Williamson, who works as a security guard at a nearby liquor store. "I turned around and looked that way, and saw a white or silver car run right over her and never stopped, never slowed down."

Memphis Police say Dinah Springfield, 43, was walking south on Winchester when she was hit by a white sedan. Police say the car could have possibly been a Pontiac Bonneville. According to police, Springfield was then hit by a white van and dragged several feet before being hit by a third vehicle. Police say the third car could possibly have been a light-colored Jaguar.

Police say Springfield was rushed to The Med where she died from her injuries.

"Nice woman, very nice," said Wo Mack, one of Springfield's friends. "She's talkative, that's all she do, she don't mess with nobody, she's pretty nice."

"It is terrible, that's the world we live in right now, it is kind of low down, you know," he added.

Memphis Police ask anyone with information on any of the three drivers to call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH.
