Whitehaven Fire Under Investigation for Arson

The Memphis Fire Department responded to a second alarm fire at the Winbranch Apartments in Whitehaven around 6:36 a.m. Sunday morning . 

According to the Memphis Fire Department, the apartments were vacant and not equipped with a sprinkler system. Under the command of Division Chief L. Fletcher, the fire was under control by 7:12 a.m.

It was determined that the fire to the wood-frame structure was intentionally set. No firefighter or civilian injuries occurred. The damage to the structure is estimated to be worth $150,000.

This fire remains under investigation.
