6-Year-Old Dies, 3 Other Children Injured In Morning Crash In Marshall County

MARSHALL CO., Miss. (localmemphis.com) - The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says a 6-year-old girl has died after a crash Tuesday morning. Three other children were injured.

It happened on Hernando Road near Highway 309 South. Investigators say a 16-year-old was driving, with three other children, ages 6, 10, and 13 in the car.

The 6-year-old, Kendal Layne Carroll Williams, was flown to Le Bonheur by hospital wing. She died from her injuries.

The other three were taken to Le Bonheur by ambulance. Their conditions have not been released.

Their vehicle was the only one involved. Investigators have not said what led to the crash. The children's mother tells Local 24 the brakes locked up on the car, and all were wearing seatbelts or in booster seats.
