Woman Charged In Kidnapping Of 7-Month-Old From Frayser Daycare

MEMPHIS, TENN (localmemphis.com) - Memphis Police have charged an 18-year-old woman with kidnapping after they say she took a baby from a Frayser daycare Thursday afternoon.

Mya Lakes is charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and Child Abuse.

Police say she walked into the Elite Academy Daycare at 3435 Frayser-Raleigh Road around 4:30 p.m., claiming to be picking up 7-month-old A'Laeh Fentress for her mother.

A'Laeh was found safe just before 7:30 p.m. on a door step at a nearby apartment complex, wearing only a diaper and wrapped in a sheet.

A'Laeh's mother says she didn't give anyone permission to pick up her daughter.

Lakes is being held in the Shelby County Jail.  She's scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, March 27th.
